Hi to all, I'm very pleased to say that I saw Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come in a small hall at the back of the Hind's Head pub in Chadwell-Heath, near Romford in Essex, on 27th October 1972. Believe it or not, the tickets only cost 60 pence each
It was a very intimate gig because of the size of the hall, so my friend and I managed to sit very close to the stage area, which wasn't even raised much from the floor, and we had a fabulous view of the whole show. I think the album 'Journey' hadn't long been out, so most of the show was based around that album if I remember correctly.
I had been a fan of Crazy World before that, so it was great to see the legend that is Arthur Brown at such close quarters. What a showman he is and it turned out to be one of the most memorable gigs that I've ever been to (before or since!). Just a wonderful and awe-inspiring experience for a 17 year old to witness.
How I wish that I had a time machine and could go back to that night for one more time!
Did anyone else happen to be there? Sonic
